The castle was built in 1348 was a safe for royal treasures. Getting to Karlstein Castle from Prague is fairly easy using the convenient rail system. Take a tour of the castle and learn where the crown jewels of Bohemia were kept. At the base of the castle is where you'll notice the town, which one must walk through to get to the medieval fortress. Shopping for souvenirs is recommended as they tend to be cheaper than in the city.
