It has the most influential and largest economy in Latin America and has been so strong that real estate in some parts has doubled in a few years in the major cities like Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Investments have become so prevalent in the last decade that Brazil has been grouped as one the stronger developing countries known as BRIC. Along with Russia, India, China and South Africa, there have been major improvements in the past few years in its efforts to raise millions of Brazilians up into the middle class thans in part to policies initiated by former President Lula da Silva.
